Directing Philosophy

Hol | list | tic:

“Emphasizing the importance of the whole and the interdependence of its parts.”

Throughout my education, I have striven to become a great holistic director. I define holistic directing as educating myself about every facet of theatre: performance, design, history and more. In believing that every element of a production is deeply connected, I challenge myself to secure every thread into one satisfying, unified picture. Doing so enables me to have enriching creative conversations with every member of a production team in a manner that makes them feel heard, understood, and valued.

I have dedicated myself to learning as much as I can about performance, design and technical production to increase the range of my own artistic visions. I firmly believe that continuous learning creates the most creative opportunities.

Being multifaceted extends beyond the stage: I love to translate books and conversations, my makeup is always elaborate, and I’ll almost always have some form of baked goods to share.

I highly value professionalism, new perspectives, and unconventional methods of storytelling. I invite all who feel the same to collaborate and explore the power of truly connected theatre.
